About Us

Norris Brothers Company was founded in 1867 by Thomas Norris Sr. as a heavy hauling and rigging contractor. Over 140 years later, the company has grown from a single team of horses to a modern company with the latest in equipment and technology. We are still owned by fourth generation family, and stand ready to meet the needs of industries in the greater Northeastern Ohio area. As a diversified contractor, Norris Brothers Co., Inc. offers a higher level of value to customers by offering a greater scope of capabilities than most specialized contractors. Norris Brothers Co., Inc. has been presented with the following internationally recognized Safety Awards for the year of 2014:

Zero Injury Safety Award

The National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee, Inc. (NMAPC) Zero Injury Safety Awards This award celebrates the best of the best - the owner-clients, signatory contractors, and local and international unions who work together in a tripartite fashion to achieve zero injuries on their projects. This year's Zero Injury Safety Awards Presentations will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the National Building Museum located in Washington, DC. 

As of December 31, 2014 Norris Brothers has worked over 251,000 hrs. at the Alcoa Cleveland Works without an injury. Norris Brothers could not have achieved such a prestigious award without the cooperation of the Alcoa Cleveland Works, the Cleveland Building Trades Council, and most importantly it’s Union Tradesmen who worked very hard and diligently to achieve this very honored and prestigious award.

Thomas J. Reynolds Award

D.A.R.T. is used by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It indicates how many workplace injuries and illnesses caused the affected employees to remain away from work, restricted work activities or transferred to another job as they were unable to do their usual job within a calendar year. DART rate helps the employer and the senior management to identify safety matters in the workplace and is consider the prime metric of a company’s safety performance

The Thomas J. Reynolds Award is presented by The Association of Union Contractors (TAUC) to contractors who have achieved a D.A.R.T that is at least 75% less than the Industry Rate.
